Balco,Sterlite

If you head over to Jamnipali in Korba, you’ll find us at the Ntpc Township. We are specifically at C-902 in Krishna Vihar. It is a bit of a mix here because you have Balco and Sterlite people all working in the same general area. The pin code is 495450, and it’s a pretty decent spot to be. It is not as crowded as some of the other sectors, which is nice. We handle a lot of the technical and logistical parts of the operations from this office. It is a simple setup with a few rooms and a small balcony that looks out over the township. You can see the cooling towers of the power plant in the distance, puffing out steam all day. It reminds us of why we are here. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking; we are just making sure the day-to-day tasks are finished on time. We talk to the engineers, check the supply lists, and make sure the reports get sent where they need to go. The people in the office are mostly folks who have worked in plants their whole lives. We don't use a lot of big words or have complicated meetings. We just sit down, look at what needs to be fixed or moved, and we do it. It’s a steady kind of life, and we like the routine of it. There is always someone brewing a pot of tea and someone else complaining about the afternoon heat.
