Vedic Visista The School

Vedic Visista The School is located in Semiliguda, which is up in the Koraput district. It is a very beautiful part of the country, though it can feel a bit isolated sometimes. We picked the name Vedic Visista because we wanted to bring a bit of traditional thinking into how we teach our students. The school building is simple and it fits in well with the hills and trees of the local landscape. We have students coming from all sorts of backgrounds. Since Semiliguda is a bit of a central spot in Koraput, we get kids from various parts of the district. The weather here is often cooler than in other places, so the classrooms stay comfortable for most of the year. We do not have a massive campus, but there is enough space for the daily lessons and some physical activities for the kids. The teachers are a mix of people who grew up nearby and some who moved to the area to work. We just try to get through the syllabus every day and make sure the children are actually picking up useful knowledge. We put a lot of emphasis on discipline and behaving well, but we try not to be too harsh about it. We want it to be a place where the kids feel fine coming every morning. We have the usual problems of a rural school, but we always find a way to make things work.
