Sunabeda is a quiet place, mostly known for the township and the people who work around here. Our school is just a regular part of that life. We call it Public School because that’s what it is—a place for the children of the community. The building is simple, nothing too grand. A few blocks of classrooms and a bit of open ground make up the whole site. It’s often very quiet here, except when the kids are out playing during their break. Air feels clean because we are far away from the big cities. Sometimes cows wander near the boundary wall, and we have to make sure the gate stays shut. Most of the teachers live nearby, so they don't have to worry about a long commute. Old wooden benches fill the rooms, having been repaired many times over the years. This is a practical school. High-tech gadgets aren't really available, but we have enough books to go around. Rain can be quite heavy here, and sometimes the roof leaks a little in the corner of the hallway. We just put a bucket there and keep going. That is just how things are. Children come from different backgrounds and all sit together in the same rooms. Making a big fuss isn't our style. We just try to get through the syllabus and make sure everyone understands the lessons. Life in Sunabeda moves at its own slow and steady pace.
