The Solitaire Hotel

Our place is called The Solitaire Hotel and we are located at Veluthedath House in Prayar North. This is in the Oachira area of Kerala, specifically in the Kollam district. The pin code is 690547 if you are looking for it on a map. It’s a very local spot and doesn't feel like those big chain hotels you see in cities. We are more of a community fixture here. The building, Veluthedath House, has its own character. It is not some glass and steel tower. Working in Oachira means we see a lot of people passing through for various reasons. Kerala is beautiful and being in the Kollam district gives us a nice backdrop for our work. We spend our days making sure the rooms are okay and talking to the people who stay with us. It's a lot of manual work and staying on your feet. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people find out about us just by being in the area or hearing from someone else. It gets humid here but that’s just life in this part of India. We just try to keep things tidy and make sure anyone who stops by feels okay. It’s a simple operation at The Solitaire Hotel. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide a place to stay in Prayar North. It is a quiet life for the most part. We like the slow pace of the district compared to the big city.
