If you find yourself near the Pannenar Kavur Temple in Karunagappally, you’re basically right where we are. We are situated near the Vadakkumthala Post Office, which makes it easy for people to find us. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the big cities, but we stay busy with our production work. We started Fathima Industries because there was a need for local manufacturing in this part of the state. Most of our workers live nearby, so they walk or cycle in every morning. The shop floor is where all the action happens. We have a few machines running most of the day, and there’s always the sound of something being pressed or packed. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the items we produce are solid. Sometimes the rains here get really heavy, and we have to make sure everything stays dry inside. It’s a simple life here. We start early, take our breaks when the temple bells ring, and head home before it gets too dark. We’ve grown a bit over the years, adding a machine here and there, but the way we work hasn’t changed much. It’s just honest work done by people who care about their trade. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make things.
