We’re located at 27, Ruby Park East, right here in Kolkata. Being part of Xpanseasia means we’re always thinking about media and how it reaches people. Even though there's a bigger name attached to us, our local office feels very much like a small, home-grown team. We’ve got a mix of people who’ve been in the game for decades and some younger faces too. Ruby Park is a good place to be based. It’s easy enough for everyone to get to. Our workspace is pretty simple—desks, chairs, and too many empty water bottles. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. We’re more concerned with the actual work we’re putting out. The media world changes fast, but we try to keep our feet on the ground. We talk to each other in plain English, or Bengali mostly, and we don't hide behind corporate buzzwords. If something isn't working, we say it. We like the honesty of working this way. It’s not a glamorous life, despite what people think of the media industry. It’s mostly just a lot of planning and checking things twice. We just show up every morning at Ruby Park East and do our best to make sure the media side of things runs smoothly for everyone involved. We are just a group of media folks trying to stay relevant and helpful in a city that never stops moving.
