Universal Media Consultants operates out of 8/2, Bachu Doctor Lane. It’s a narrow lane in Dhakuria, which most people in Kolkata-700031 know well. We are located at the address C/O Amal Roy, who is the person to look for if you’re trying to find the exact gate. It’s one of those old-school Kolkata streets where everyone knows everyone else. The office space is pretty simple. We don't have those glass partitions or shiny carpets you see in the big parks. It's just a room with desks and chairs. Finding parking on Bachu Doctor Lane can be a bit of a headache, so we usually just walk or take a rickshaw from the main crossing. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it feels quite calm during the day. Sometimes you can hear the sounds from the nearby houses while we work. We’ve been here for some time now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street. It’s not a corporate hub, just a place where we do our consulting work. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when we need a break. We don't really do much to decorate the place; it’s more about the work than the look of the office. We just keep things running from this spot in Dhakuria. It’s a very basic setup, but it gets the job done for us and that is what matters. It is a quiet street for the most part. We are usually here until late.
