The India Today Group has this location at 13, Jogin Mukherjee Lane in Kadamtala, Howrah. Being on the other side of the river in Howrah-711101 means we have a different daily experience than the Kolkata offices. Jogin Mukherjee Lane is a typical busy lane where life moves fast. Our building is a simple structure on a narrow street. Inside, it’s all about the work. We have our computers, some old files, and a few chairs for visitors. It’s definitely not a luxury office. The walls have some marks, and the floor is just plain stone. We get the usual Howrah humidity, and the fans are always on full blast. It can be quite loud with the traffic and the local market sounds nearby. We often grab a quick snack from the vendors on the corner. Getting here involves navigating some pretty tight turns, but we’ve done it so many times it’s second nature now. It’s a functional space where we spend our hours. No one here cares much about having a polished look. We just want to get the work done and head home. It’s a honest, hardworking environment in a very busy part of West Bengal. There are always people moving about and the sound of the city is never far away. It’s just a plain office in a real neighborhood where everyone is trying to make a living. It feels real and grounded.
