The India Today Group

You can find us over at 23 Kali Kumar Banerjee Lane in Kolkata. It is one of those narrow lanes that you find in the older parts of the city, which gives it a certain character. This is where a branch of The India Today Group operates from. It is not a huge media hub like you might expect from the name, but more of a local base for our activities in this region. The street is usually filled with the sounds of the neighborhood, and it is a short walk from some of the bigger roads. We have been here for a while, managing the distribution and the editorial bits that come through our doors. The building fits right in with the houses on the lane. Inside, it is just a bunch of people who care about getting the news and magazines out to the readers. We don't have shiny signs or anything that stands out too much. It is mostly just stacks of paper, desks, and the hum of fans during the summer. We spend our days making sure the information gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the delivery vans have a bit of a tough time navigating the narrow turns of the lane, but everyone is used to it by now. It is a very human way to run a media office, being right there in the middle of a residential area. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just do the work of keeping people informed from our little corner of Kolkata.
