The India Today Group

This branch of The India Today Group is located in Asansol, not Kolkata. We are at Parijat Apartment in the Courtmore area of Sararapally. Asansol is a different world compared to the big city. It’s a bit more rugged, being a coal and industrial belt. Our office is in a residential apartment block, which makes it feel very private. Courtmore is a busy part of town because of the courts nearby, so there are always people moving around. We handle the local news and distribution from here. It’s a small office, nothing like the big headquarters. We have a few desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of old newspapers. It’s quiet inside the apartment, which is nice when we have to write or check reports. The Burdwan district has its own rhythm. We follow that. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the bell. Most people who come here already know where we are. We drink a lot of coffee and talk about the local happenings. It’s a very grounded way to work in media. We don't have the fancy studios or the big lights. It’s just us and our notebooks and computers. We try to keep up with everything going on in the district. It’s a steady job in a steady town. We like the simplicity of it all at Parijat Apartment. It’s where we get things done.
