Our place is in the Industrial Housing Estate over in Budge Budge. We’re up on the second floor, specifically Block E, Flat 14. It’s a bit of a climb if the stairs feel long that day. Being in an industrial area, there’s always some kind of noise or activity going on outside. We handle the telecom side of things for this area. It’s a lot of technical work, monitoring lines and making sure the service stays up. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some old filing cabinets and a couple of computers that work hard. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy art on the walls. We’re more focused on the maps and the hardware. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have the fans going. We work with a lot of people in the surrounding blocks. It’s a community of workers out here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We are just the people you call when there’s a problem with the connection. We’ve been in this flat for a good bit now, so we know all the quirks of the building. The plumbing is a bit temperamental, but the work gets done regardless. We stay busy with the daily maintenance and the occasional emergency repair. It’s just a steady job in a busy part of the city outskirts. We just keep our heads down and finish the day.
