If you walk down Taratala Road, you'll find us at number 16. It's not a flashy building, just a place where work gets done every day. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the traffic change outside our windows. Inside, there's always the sound of machinery and people talking over the hum of the factory floor. We deal with heavy stuff, parts for railways and things that keep the country moving, though we don't think about it in those big terms daily. It's mostly about getting the inventory checked and making sure the metal is cut right. Some days are hotter than others, especially when the Kolkata humidity hits, but we keep the fans going and stay busy. The tea stall nearby is where most of us head during the break to talk about anything but work. It’s a bit dusty, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to those of us who spend ten hours a day here. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just making sure the orders go out on time and the quality is what it should be. You see the same faces every morning at the gate, some have been here thirty years, others just started last week. It’s just a regular bunch of people doing regular jobs, trying to do them well enough so we can go home satisfied at the end of the shift.
