Our spice business is located in Beleghata at B/4/H/18A, Ram Mohan Mullicks Garden Lane. It is a bit of a mouthful to say the whole address, but that is exactly where you will find us. Kolkata 700010 is a place with a lot of character and old buildings. Working with spices means the air around our office always smells like cumin, turmeric, or chili. It is a strong smell that gets into your clothes after you have been here for a few hours. We spend our time sourcing different spices and getting them ready for the market. The lane we are on is quite narrow, so the big trucks often have a hard time getting through. We often have to move things by hand or use small carts to get the bags inside. It is hard work, especially with the high humidity we get here in West Bengal. Our team is small, mostly made up of people from the local neighborhood. We do not have a lot of fancy machinery; we do things the way they have been done for a long time. It is practical and it keeps us very busy. We have a lot of regular people who know exactly where to find us when they need something. The building itself is older, with thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer months. We just focus on getting the spices sorted.
