Siddha Ayurvedalaya

We've been at 12Hbaishnabghata Lane for a while now. Most people around Baishnabghata Lane know where we are because of the smell of the oils and herbs. It is a quiet spot, really. We spend most of the day sorting through different roots and powders that come in. It’s a lot of manual work, making sure things are stored right. The building itself is older, but it serves us well for what we do here at Siddha Ayurvedalaya. You won't find anything flashy in our rooms. We have wooden shelves and some benches for people to wait on. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the mornings when the new shipments arrive. We try to keep things organized, though it's hard when you're dealing with so many small packets. My cousin helps out with the ledger, and we mostly just talk to the locals who walk by. We don't really do much advertising because the neighborhood knows us. If you walk down the lane, you can't miss the door. It isn't a huge operation, just a few of us making sure the traditional supplies are available for whoever needs them. The floor gets a bit dusty with all the dry herbs, but we sweep it out every evening before closing up. It’s just a normal workplace where we focus on getting the right mixtures ready. No fancy machines, just scales and our hands. That’s how we’ve always done it here in this part of town.
