She The World Of Women

We have been here at 334/1, Jessore Road for a while now. It is a busy spot in Laketown, right beside the Mother Dairy Depot which everyone around here knows. Most days start early when we roll up the shutters and get things ready for the women who stop by. The shop, She The World Of Women, is just a regular place where we keep things simple. We have racks filled with different items and mirrors that need a good wipe every few hours because of the dust from the road. People walking to the bus stop or coming from the dairy often peer through the glass. It is a bit noisy with the traffic on Jessore Road always moving, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. Just a few fans going and our chairs for people to sit if they are waiting for a friend. Sometimes the tea man from the corner brings over a few cups and we just chat about the neighborhood. It is not a very big space but we make it work by keeping everything in its right corner. We spend a lot of time just organizing the hangers and making sure the floor is clean. It is just a local business trying to do its part here in Kolkata. Nothing more to it really, just us showing up every morning and staying until the evening lights come on.
