Ruchika Home Delivery

We run this home delivery service out of Priya Apt, AD 80 in Rabindra Pally, which is near where Calcutta Builders is located. It is basically a home-based setup where we cook and then send the food out to people nearby. We don't have a storefront or a place for people to sit down and eat. It’s all about getting the meals packed up and sent out the door as fast as we can. The kitchen is the heart of the whole thing. We spend a lot of time chopping, stirring, and tasting to make sure everything is okay before it goes out. Rabindra Pally is a residential area, so we mostly deliver to families and people who are too busy to cook for themselves after work. We use our own scooters or sometimes we walk if the delivery is just a few blocks away. It is a small operation, just a couple of family members helping out with the cooking and the cleaning. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy logo on our bags. Most people find out about us by word of mouth from their neighbors who have ordered before. Sometimes the delivery takes a little longer if the rain is heavy or if a scooter won't start, but we do our best to get there eventually. We keep a notebook of all the orders and what people like. It is a very personal way of doing things.
