R.R.K. Spices (Opc) Private Limited

R.R.K. Spices operates out of Salt Lake City in Kolkata, over at DG-4 in Sector II. It is a bit quieter here than the main city markets, but we stay plenty busy. Being an OPC means we have a small, tight setup. We handle all sorts of spices that people use in their daily cooking. Working with spices is a bit tricky because the strong smells tend to stay on your clothes and everything else in the office. You walk in and you can smell the turmeric or cumin right away. We spend most of our time looking over samples and talking to people who need to place bulk orders for their shops. It involves a lot of phone calls and checking the stock we have in the back area. The Salt Lake location is decent for us because the roads are wider, which makes it a lot easier for delivery vans to come and go. We do not have a big marketing department or anything like that. It is just us working with what we have. Sometimes the Kolkata heat makes the work feel a little slower, but we keep the orders moving. We try to keep things as organized as possible, though it gets a bit messy when new bags of raw spices arrive. This is an old-fashioned kind of trade, even if we are located in a modern part of the city. We just keep our heads down and get the packets ready for the customers.
