Pratap Chandra Memorial Homeopathic Hospital & College

This place is over on Narkeldanga North Road, right at number 14/1 on Mahanambrata Sarani. It’s a busy spot. We’ve got the hospital side and the college side, so there are always students running around with books. It gets a bit loud when classes let out. The building has been here for a long time and it shows in some of the corners. We do homeopathy mostly. People come from all over this part of the city because they know we’ve been here forever. The doctors are also teachers, so they’re always explaining things to the juniors while they see patients. It can be a bit slow because of that. You might have to wait on a bench for a while. The pharmacy is usually packed in the mornings. We try to keep the files in order, but with so many people coming in, it’s a constant job. The students help out with the paperwork and the basic check-ups. It’s a learning place as much as a healing one. We’ve got a lot of history in these walls. Sometimes the fans are noisy, but they keep the air moving in the wards. It's just a regular old-school hospital. We don't do much fancy stuff, just the medicines and the teaching like we always have. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the schedule every single day. We keep the corridors clean, though the paint is peeling in some spots. It takes effort to manage such a big place.
