Fashion Fields

Our office is on the 6th Floor at No. 107/1 Park Street. Being up that high is nice because you don’t get as much street noise, but waiting for the elevator can take forever when everyone is arriving at the same time. The space is mostly open-plan with a few desks and a big table in the middle where we spread out samples and drawings. We spend a lot of time on the phone or on the computer, coordinating between the workshops and the clients. There’s a small balcony where we keep some plants, though they struggle a bit in the city air. It’s a bit more of a corporate-feeling building than some other places we’ve been, but our office itself is quite casual. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. We deal with the design and coordination side of the fashion business, so there are always sketches pinned to the walls. Sometimes we stay late when a project is finishing up, and the view of the city lights from the 6th floor is actually pretty good. We have a small cupboard for tea and biscuits, which is where everyone congregates around 4 PM. It’s a decent place to work and we try to keep the atmosphere light, even when we have a lot of deadlines hanging over us. There's always a stack of magazines on the side table.
