Sanjay Emporium

Sanjay Emporium is located in a very busy part of town near the New Howrah Bridge. The address is P- 4 on the Appartment Road but we are actually inside Nand Ram Market. You have to go up to the first floor and find shop number F- 8/6. It is a bit of a maze in there if you are not used to it. The market is always crowded with people looking for different things. Our shop is not very big so we have to use every inch of space we have. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. It is full of different items and sometimes it is hard to find things quickly. The Appartment Road outside is always blocked with traffic and people shouting. Being on the first floor helps a little bit with the noise but not much. We spend our days managing the stock and helping anyone who comes into the shop. It is a tight squeeze when more than two people are inside. The market has a very specific energy and it can be tiring. We have been here for quite some time now. We know the other shopkeepers around us and we all look out for each other. It is a tough way to work but it is our daily life. We close up the shutters late in the evening when the market starts to quiet down.
