Mitra Company

Our place is at 6/1/C Rai Bahadur Road in Kolkata. We are in the 700034 area. It’s an old part of the city, and Mitra Company has been around this neighborhood for a long time. The building is a bit worn down and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it’s got a lot of character to it. We don't have air conditioning in every room, just some old ceiling fans that keep the air moving during the humid days. We do our business here every day, talking to locals and handling whatever comes our way. Kolkata is a city that doesn't sleep much, and Rai Bahadur Road is always full of people, cars, and rickshaws making a noise. Our office is just a few rooms with heavy wooden desks and old metal cabinets full of files and records. We aren't some big corporation with a tall glass building. It’s just us. We know our neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby by their first names. When you walk in, you might see us drinking tea from the local stall or looking over some handwritten accounts. It’s a very simple and traditional setup. We don't use a lot of new technology, mostly just the basics to get the job done. We’ve survived many hot summers and heavy monsoons in this same spot. It’s not a polished place, but it’s home to our work and we are proud of it. We just keep going, day after day, doing what we’ve always done for the community. It’s honest work.
