Lalani Computer Academy

If you walk up to the second floor at 8 Bentinck Street, you will find our small setup. We are right in the middle of the Lal Bazar area, so it’s always loud outside with all the traffic and people. We have a few rooms filled with computers where people come to learn. It is not a fancy university or anything like that. Just some desks, chairs, and monitors that we try to keep running. Sometimes the internet is slow or a mouse stops working, and we have to fiddle with the wires to get it going again. We spend our days showing folks how to use different software or how to type better. Most of our students are locals looking to get a bit better with technology. It can get a bit cramped when a class is full, but we make it work. The building itself is old, like most things in this part of town. The stairs are steep, and the hallways are narrow. We’ve been here long enough that the tea stall downstairs knows our names. We don’t put on any acts. We are just here to help people figure out their way around a keyboard. It's a simple living for us, and we like the bustle of the city right outside our windows. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks in.
