Kolkata Repair

You can find us over at the Emall in Chandi Chawak. It is a pretty hectic place to work because the mall is always full of people looking for electronics. Kolkata Repair is just a modest shop tucked away inside. We don’t have much in the way of space. Most of the room is taken up by workbenches and shelves full of spare parts and half-fixed machines. It can get pretty messy with all the wires and screws lying around. We spend most of our day bent over a desk with a soldering iron or a screwdriver. It’s not the kind of work where you can stay clean. You end up with a bit of grease or dust on your hands by noon. We hear everything that goes on in the mall, from the music in the hallways to the loud bargaining at the shop next door. It’s a lively environment, that is for sure. We don't have any fancy brochures. People usually just find us because they have a broken phone or a laptop and someone told them to come here. We try to be straight with people about how long a fix will take. Sometimes it’s quick, other times we are waiting on a part from across town. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other guys in the mall. We usually share a tea in the afternoon and talk about the latest tech. It’s a busy life, fixing things one by one.
