Durgesh Textiles

Our place is at No. 160 Jamunalal Bajaj Street, which is a busy part of the neighborhood to be in. Durgesh Textiles is filled with rolls of cloth and different materials stacked up to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a maze inside if you don't know where everything is kept. We spend the morning sorting through what arrived the day before and getting things ready for the people who come by. The street outside is always crowded with carts and people moving stuff back and forth. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bundles and measuring out pieces for folks who need them. We don't have any fancy displays, just the shelves and the counters where we work. Sometimes we lose track of time because there's always something to fold or move. It’s a bit dusty because of all the fabric, but that’s just how it is in this trade. We’ve known the other shop owners on Jamunalal Bajaj Street for years. We share news and sometimes help each other out when things get too busy. It’s a plain business, nothing more. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it still works, which is enough for us during the humid months. Sometimes the lighting is a bit dim in the back, but we manage to find what we need without much trouble. We keep a small stool near the window.
