Our place is down on the ground floor over at No. 204 B in the 10th Row of Purbalok. If you’re coming through Ps Purba Jadavpur, it’s not too hard to find us once you get into the residential-turned-commercial pockets. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes because garment machinery takes up a lot of floor space. We have crates stacked up near the entrance and there’s usually a bit of oil on the floor where we’ve been testing out a new stitcher or an overlock machine. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we know these machines inside and out, so we don't need much. We started Hca Garment Machinery with just a couple of us, and it hasn't changed much except for having more parts lying around now. When the heavy trucks come to drop off the new stock, the whole street gets a bit blocked, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We spend most of our mornings answering the phone and the afternoons actually working on the metal. It’s dusty work, and your hands get dirty five minutes after you walk in. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. Most people just walk straight back to where the noise is. It's practical, it's loud, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every single week.
