Out here in Rishra, at 89/367 Vivekananda Road, things move at a slightly different pace than they do in the middle of Kolkata. Bangur Park is a decent neighborhood, and being in Hooghly means we have a lot of local folks stopping by to ask about our services. The office isn't very large, but we make it work with what we have. We have been here for a bit, and most people around here know exactly where to find us. We mostly deal with consulting work, which involves a lot of reading, checking documents, and talking to clients on the phone. It’s a practical space with wooden desks and a lot of paper stacked up in the corners. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; you just walk in and talk to whoever is free at the moment. On humid days, the fan overhead hums loudly, but we don’t mind it much. It’s a real place where real work gets done every day. Sometimes the trains nearby make a lot of noise, but it’s just part of the background of working in Rishra. We try to keep things straightforward and honest with everyone who walks through the door. There’s no corporate talk here, just plain English and local languages spoken between tasks. We usually lock up around six and head home. It’s a steady job in a steady part of town, and that suits us just fine. We just handle the business day by day.
