Icici Lombard

Icici Lombard has a place here in Calcutta at 8 2A Hazra Road. It’s a very old part of the city, and the building reflects that. Calcutta 700026 is full of history, and Hazra Road is always packed with yellow taxis and buses. Our office is right in the middle of all that noise. Inside, the ceilings are quite high, which is nice for the heat. We have some heavy wooden desks that have probably been here longer than I have. The walls have some damp patches from the rains, but that’s just Calcutta for you. We spend our days dealing with insurance forms and talking to people who walk in off the street. It’s a busy road, so there’s always something happening outside. We can hear the trams and the shouting of the street vendors. We usually get some samosas or kachoris from the shop down the road in the late afternoon. The work is steady and repetitive, but we don't mind. We aren't a fancy corporate hub; we are just a local office on Hazra Road. The staff here speaks a mix of Bengali, Hindi, and English. We just try to help folks with their insurance needs without making it too complicated. It’s a simple life here in the West Bengal office. We just take it as it comes and try to stay organized among all the papers.
