Our office is at 228A, Chittaranjan Avenue. It’s very easy to find because we are quite near the Girish Park Metro station. Being on such a major road means there is constant noise from the buses and taxis outside, but you get used to it after a few days. The building is one of those older Kolkata structures with high ceilings and thick walls. We’ve set up our workspace here to handle our daily alloy business. It’s mostly desks piled with ledgers and samples of different metals. We aren't the type to have a sleek, modern office. It feels more like a traditional family-run place, even though we deal with industrial materials. The team here is a mix of older guys who have been in the trade forever and some younger ones learning the ropes. We drink a lot of tea and talk to suppliers over the phone all day. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the trucks are going to the right places. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just rely on being at this spot for years and knowing our trade. It’s a busy life on C.R. Avenue, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The stairs are a bit steep and the elevator is temperamental, but we like the history of the place. It feels real and solid, just like the materials we handle.
