Event Manager

If you are looking for us, we are at 31 Block-C in Bangur Avenue. We operate out of Uday Ghosh’s place, and Kuntal Dutta Banik is usually the one you’ll be talking to if you call or drop by. Being an event manager in a city like Kolkata means you are always on your toes and moving around. We don't have a big storefront with balloons outside. It’s more of a home-office setup where we do all the planning and phone work. The table is usually covered in notebooks, lists, and half-empty cups of coffee. We spend a lot of time talking to decorators, caterers, and people looking to put on a show or a wedding. Bangur is a good location for this because we can get to different parts of the city fairly quickly. It can get pretty chaotic when a big event is coming up. We are constantly checking the weather and making sure the supplies arrived on time. Sometimes things don't go exactly as planned, like a sudden rainstorm or a power cut, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. It’s not a glamorous job, despite what people think. It’s mostly hard work and a lot of standing around in the sun making sure everything is in place. We’ve been doing this from this address for a while and have seen many celebrations come and go.
