Enginneer & Architech

If you take a walk down Nafar Chandra Das Road in Behala, you might come across Enginneer & Architech. We are at 33A, right in the heart of South 24 Parganas in Kolkata. This city has a lot of history and the buildings around us show it, which makes our work interesting. We deal with both engineering and architecture, so there is never a dull moment in the office. One minute we are talking about structural beams and the next we are arguing over where a window should go. It’s a small office and sometimes it gets a bit crowded with all the rolls of blueprints laying around the floor. We try to keep things organized but when we get busy, that usually goes out the window. Kolkata can be a tough place to work during the monsoon because the rain just doesn't stop, but we keep the lights on and keep drawing. We don't have a flashy entrance or a receptionist in a suit. It’s just us sitting at our desks doing the math and making sure the designs are solid. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name. We like being in Behala because it has a certain character you don't find in the newer parts of the city. We take our work seriously but we don't take ourselves too seriously, which seems to work out just fine for everyone involved.
