Cook & Care

We started Cook & Care in this little corner of Gulu Ostagar Lane. It's right near the Darzi Para stopage if you know the Sovabazar area well. Girish Park isn't too far off either. Most days we are just busy in the kitchen. There is always a lot of chopping and cleaning going on around here. We just focus on getting the food ready and making sure everything is handled properly. It is not a very big place, just 18/C, but we make it work. Some of us have been here for years now. We know the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. The lane can get a bit crowded in the afternoons, especially with the traffic near the stop. We try to keep things quiet inside but it’s a kitchen, so there is always some noise. People around Sovabazar know where to find us. We don't spend much time on the computer or making fancy signs. Most of our day is spent looking at recipes or checking the stove. It gets quite hot in the summers, but that is just part of the job. We keep a simple routine. Morning starts early with the supplies arriving. We check the vegetables and start the prep work. It’s mostly just us doing our thing day in and day out. Nothing too fancy happens here. Just regular people doing regular work in a small part of the city. We like it that way.
