You will find Basanta Cabin Restaurant at 53 College Street. This is an old and famous part of the city, surrounded by bookstalls and students from the nearby colleges. We’ve been here for a very long time, and we’ve seen countless people pass through our doors over the years. Our place isn't modern or fancy. It’s a simple, traditional cabin where people can sit down for a quick meal or a cup of tea. The wooden tables and the old-fashioned walls are a big part of who we are. We don't have a massive menu filled with trendy dishes. We mostly stick to the classic items that we’ve been making for decades. These are the things that students and office workers in the College Street area have always enjoyed. It gets quite crowded during the middle of the day, and the sounds from the busy street outside are always part of the atmosphere here. We don't use any corporate language because we are just a local restaurant. The kitchen is small and gets very hot, but it’s where all the work happens. We spend our time making sure the food is ready for the next person who walks in. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, but that is just how it is in this part of town.
