Ujjwal Printek

Our place, Ujjwal Printek, is right on the Kalyani Highway. If you are passing the CMDA toll tax in Barrackpore, you have probably seen our building sitting there. It is not exactly a quiet spot because of all the trucks and cars zooming by to pay the toll. The air out here is always a bit dusty from the road, but we stay busy inside. We do a lot of printing work, so there is always that sharp smell of ink and paper in the air. The machines are pretty old but they still run fine if you know how to kick them into gear properly. We spend a lot of time checking proofs and refilling toner cartridges. The lighting is a bit harsh, just those long tube lights, but it helps us see the small print on the jobs we are running. Our staff usually brings lunch from home and we eat while the machines are running in the background. It is a noisy environment, mostly from the highway and the printers clattering away. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for the generator, which is frustrating. Being beside the CMDA toll tax means it is easy for people to find us, even if they are not from around here. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the work we do and the people who stop by because they saw our sign. It is a practical setup for a printing shop. We just keep our heads down and try to get the colors right every time.
