A. K. INDUSTRIES is located over at Hare Street in Kolkata. We’re in Ashoka House, on the second floor in Room 203. It’s an old building, very typical for this part of town, but it has a lot of character. We've been working out of this spot for quite some time now. Kolkata is a busy city and Hare Street always has something going on outside. Inside the office, it’s a bit quieter, but we’re always keeping busy with orders. We do industrial stuff, mostly manufacturing parts and things like that. It’s not the most glamorous work, but it’s what we know. People come to us when they need specific industrial components. We aren't a big factory with smoke stacks, more of an office and management side of the industry. Dealing with logistics from a place like this can be interesting, especially when the streets get flooded or blocked for a festival. But we make it work. We’ve got a small crew here. Everyone knows each other’s business, which is how it goes in a small office. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. Usually, people hear about us through word of mouth or they’ve been buying from us for years. It’s a straightforward operation. We just try to get the orders right and make sure everything is shipped out from the warehouse on time. That’s pretty much the daily routine for us and we just keep it moving.
