Muktai Kaju Prakalp

This is our cashew unit located at Rakate Vasti in the Nagthane area of Sangli. We are out in Walwa and the surroundings are mostly quiet except for the sound of our processing work. Muktai Kaju Prakalp is where we take the raw nuts and get them ready for people to eat. It involves a lot of manual work like sorting and peeling which we do right here on site. We have a group of local people who come in every day to help with the processing. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work but we talk and listen to the radio while we do it. The smell of cashews is everywhere in the building which is something you get used to. We don't have any big corporate offices just the processing area and some storage space for the bags. Sometimes the crop is good and we are very busy and other times things are a bit slower depending on the harvest. We just take the nuts as they come from the fields and do our part. It is a local business and we know everyone around the Vasti. We aren't trying to be the biggest factory out there we just want to keep the quality steady and keep our workers busy. It’s a simple life out here in Sangli and we take pride in finishing each bag of cashews properly before they are sent out.
