Shri Vakrthonda Foundation

Shri Vakrthonda Foundation is based in a small village called Shendri. If you know the Gadhinglaj area in Kolhapur, you probably know where we are. Our spot is at house number 25/B. It is a humble place, nothing too special to look at, but it is where we do all our planning. We are just a group of friends and neighbors who wanted to do something for the people living around here. Kolhapur is a great place but smaller villages like Shendri sometimes get overlooked. We try to help out with local problems, whatever they might be. Sometimes it is helping a family with paperwork and other times it is just helping clean up a local space. We don't have a lot of rules or a corporate structure. We just talk to people and see what they need. Most of us have lived in the 416501 zip code area our whole lives. We care about the ground we walk on. It’s honest work and we don’t expect any praise for it. We just think it’s what neighbors should do for each other. You won’t find us in a big office building. We are usually out and about in the village or sitting at the house talking to someone. It’s a slow process but we are making a difference in our own small way. We just keep going because we know the people here depend on us.
