Shivchhatrapati Social Welfare Foundation operates out of Flat 106 in Saraswati Apartment, located in Mahadik Vasahat, Kolhapur. It is basically Mahesh Raghunath Yadav’s place, and that is where we do all our planning and organization. Being in a residential apartment like Saraswati keeps us close to the families in the neighborhood. Kolhapur is our home, and we’ve lived in this 416003 area for a long time. We didn't see the need for a big glass office when a simple flat works just fine. The neighbors know us, and we know them. It makes the work feel more personal when you are right there where people live. Our team is small, mostly just local people who have a few hours to spare every week. We sit around the living area and figure out what we can do to help folks nearby. There’s usually some tea on the stove and a lot of talk about local issues. It is a bit cramped sometimes when everyone shows up, but we don’t mind. We aren't here to be some big professional organization. We just want to be a helping hand for the community in Mahadik Vasahat. People stop by to chat or drop off things, and we handle everything from this small base. It’s a very local, very simple way of doing things.
