Rajmata Jijau Mahila Forum

Rajmata Jijau Mahila Forum is based in Kolhapur, specifically at Haripujapuram NPark. We are on the third floor of building 101. It’s a bit of a walk up, but we don’t mind. We created this forum because we wanted a dedicated space for women in our area to get together. It’s not a corporate office with cubicles. It feels more like a community center where we can speak freely. We don't have any professional marketers writing our stuff. We just talk like normal people. Some days the office is empty and quiet, and other days it’s full of noise and tea and planning. We don't have a lot of funding, so we make do with what we have. Most of our furniture is second-hand or donated. We focus on practical issues that affect women here in Kolhapur. It’s not about having a grand vision; it’s about solving small problems every day. We aren't trying to expand into a huge organization. We just want to stay rooted here in Haripujapuram. If someone needs help, they usually just show up at the door. We don't have a complicated registration process or anything. We just listen and try to be useful. It’s a small, local effort run by people who actually live here. We’ve been here for a while and we plan to stay as long as the community needs us.
