Raj Family Shopy

Gadve Chowk is always a busy place to be. Here at Raj Family Shopy, we see a lot of the same faces every day. It’s tucked away in Bijapur West, and the location means we get a mix of folks from all over the district. Sangli weather can be a bit much, so I usually keep the front area clear to let any breeze come through. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things that families might need. I spent most of yesterday trying to reorganize the back section because things always get moved around when it's busy. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually someone talking in the back or the sound of a radio playing low. I don’t like things to be too stiff or corporate looking. The floors are a bit worn down from people walking in and out, but that’s just a sign of a good day. I usually have a chat with whoever stops by, even if they aren't looking for anything specific. The light in the shop gets a bit dim in the corners, so I have to be careful not to trip over the crates. It’s a steady kind of life, watching the traffic at the chowk and making sure the stock stays full. When the sun goes down, the whole area lights up and things finally start to quiet down a bit. I often spend my evenings just checking the ledgers by the front counter under a single bulb.
