Radha Masale is basically run out of the Harugade Plot area in Sangli Wadi. We are located at Sumit Mahadev Sagare’s place. It’s not a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a local setup where we handle everything ourselves. Sangli Wadi is a quiet enough area, but we stay busy with the spice grinding. You can usually find us working on the latest batch of powders. The equipment makes a lot of noise, so the neighbors definitely know when we are working. We started this because we wanted to do something local. We don't have a big staff. It is mostly just a few of us making sure the quality is okay and the bags are sealed properly. Sometimes we run out of labels or the power goes out, which happens around here, and we just have to wait it out. It is a very hands-on process. We don't use any big machines that do everything automatically. We have to watch the colors and the textures ourselves. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. Red chili powder gets everywhere if you aren't careful. We just sell to people nearby and some shops that know Sumit. It is a simple life and a simple business. We don’t try to be something we aren't. We just make the masale and hope people like the taste of their food with it when they cook at home.
