Meenakshi Dixit Welfare Foundation

We are based out of a small place in Vita Part A, which is in the Khanapur district of Sangli. It is a quiet area mostly, and everyone around here seems to know each other. Our office is not anything you would call modern or polished. It is just a simple room where we keep our files and meet with people. We spend a lot of our time just listening to folks from the surrounding villages. Sangli can get really hot during the summer months, so we usually have a few fans running all day long. We do not have a big team of employees. It is mostly just a couple of us doing the daily chores and keeping the records straight. We use some old-fashioned ledgers because they feel more reliable sometimes than the computer. People often drop by without an appointment, which is fine by us. That is the way things work in a town like this. We do not have any big corporate goals or fancy speeches to give. We just focus on the tasks right in front of us. Sometimes we have to travel out to the fields or other parts of Khanapur to see what is happening. It is a very grounded kind of work. The office might be a bit dusty and we often have the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can. It is an honest way to spend the day. We are just local people.
