Kolhapur Pollution Planning Association

Our setup is located at House Number 35 in Tilawani. That’s in the Hatkanangale Taluka, not too far from Ichalkaranji in the Kolhapur district. Tilawani is a small place, so everyone pretty much knows where House 35 is. We aren't in a big city office building. Instead, we work out of this house where it’s quiet enough to actually think. We work on pollution planning, which is a big deal in an industrial area like Ichalkaranji. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and talking to local farmers and factory workers about the environment. The air and water around here matter to us because we live here too. Our office is just a few rooms with some old computers and a lot of notebooks. It’s a bit dusty sometimes, especially when the wind blows across the fields, but that’s just life in the taluka. We don’t have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. Most of our days are spent visiting different sites or sitting on the porch discussing new ideas for the association. We’ve been part of this community for years, and we plan to stay. It’s honest work, and we don’t feel the need to dress it up with big words or a corporate image. If you’re ever in Tilawani, you can just ask for us by the house number and anyone will point you the way. It is just us here and we like it.
