Jansevagarmin Bahuuddeshiya Foundation

Our foundation is located at Ghar Number 1 in Umrani. It is in the Jath Taluka of the Sangli district. This is a very rural area, quite different from the big cities. The Jansevagarmin Bahuuddeshiya Foundation operates right out of this house. It is a simple place, just like the rest of the village in Umrani. We don't have high-speed internet or fancy office equipment. We mostly sit on the porch or in the main room and talk to the farmers and families who live nearby. People know where Ghar Number 1 is, so they just drop by when they have something on their minds. We are just local folks ourselves. We understand the struggles people face in Jath because we face them too. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just try to help out with whatever comes up, whether it is paperwork or finding resources for someone. It is a very slow pace of life here in Sangli, and we work according to that. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who care about the village. Sometimes we are out in the fields more than we are in the office. It is honest, simple work. We are not a big organization with a lot of money, just a small foundation trying to do some good in our own backyard. We take things one day at a time here in Umrani.
