Hujur Gousul Aazam (Hga) Rh. Social Foundation

You can find us over at Plot No. 9 in Laxmi Vasahat, which is part of the B Ward in Kolhapur. We are right in the Jawahar Nagar area. It’s a local spot where everyone knows each other. This foundation was set up to do some social work around the neighborhood. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s just a simple building where we gather to talk about what needs doing. We focus on the people living right here in our part of Kolhapur. There is always something going on, whether it's helping someone with paperwork or organizing a small event for the locals. We aren't doing this for any big awards or anything like that. It’s just about being good neighbors. The office is a bit old-fashioned, with wooden desks and a lot of paper everywhere. We keep the kettle on for visitors. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually get most of the heavy work done early in the morning. People walk in all the time to ask about what we are up to. We try to explain things simply. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us who care about how things are going in Laxmi Vasahat. We like being in this part of town because it feels like home to us. There's no fancy mission statement on the wall, just a bunch of people trying to make things a little better for everyone around here. We just take it one day at a time.
