The Market Yard is a loud, crowded place to be, and that is exactly where we are based. If you have ever been here, you know the sounds of trucks backing up and people shouting to get things moved. It’s constant movement from before sunrise until late in the evening. We deal with exports, so our days are filled with checking crates, looking at quality, and making sure the paperwork matches what is being loaded. There is no quiet time in this office. The walls are thin and you can hear everything happening outside in the yard. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, so we know most of the other folks around here. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of dust and the smell of whatever produce is being traded that day. Sometimes the trucks are late and we have to wait around, drinking tea from the stall nearby. Other times, everything happens at once and we are running to keep up. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a handful of us making sure the goods get to where they need to go, whether that’s across the country or overseas. We handle a lot of heavy lifting, both literally and with the logistics. It is just the way things work in the Market Yard. You get used to the chaos after a while.
