Brahma Welfare Foundation

We are located in Shingnapur, in the Karvir area. Our office is at Makarand B Kulkarni’s place on Patil Galli. We are quite close to the Dnyaneshwar Mandir, so it’s easy to find us if you are familiar with the landmarks around here. It’s a very traditional neighborhood with narrow lanes and lots of history. The foundation is run in a very simple way. We don’t have a big staff or a fancy office setup. It’s mostly just a few of us working out of this space in Patil Galli. You can hear the temple bells from our desk sometimes, which is quite nice. The room is small and we’ve got it packed with books and files related to our welfare projects. We spend a lot of time talking to the local folks about what they need. It’s not the kind of work you can do from a distance, so being right here in the middle of things is important. We don't use any complicated systems or corporate talk. We just listen to people and see what can be done to help out. The internet can be a bit spotty here in Shingnapur, but we manage. It’s a humble place and we are happy to be part of this community. People usually just drop in when they see the light on. It’s a very direct and personal way of doing things, and we wouldn't want it any other way. It's just home for us.
