Big Bazaar

Down here in Sangli, you will find us in the Khan Bahg area. This Big Bazaar is where many of us spend our entire day, from early morning until the lights go out at night. It is a big building, but it feels like a small community once you are inside. We are the ones who make sure the milk is fresh and the clothes are folded, though they don't stay folded for long once the crowds arrive. Working here means being on your feet for hours. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. It is just retail work. We see the same faces from around Sangli every week, and you get to know people’s habits. On the weekends, it gets really loud and busy, and we just try to keep the queues moving as best we can. The address in Khan Bahg is easy for everyone to find. We have our own routines behind the scenes, like the tea breaks in the small back room or the way we complain about the heat when the air conditioning is struggling. It is a very normal, everyday kind of job. We are just a group of local people trying to keep the store running smoothly. We don't always get everything right, but we show up every day and put in the effort. That is just how we do things here.
