Ankur Trading Company

Ankur Trading Company is based in Kasba Bavada, over in the Kolhapur district. We are right by Bhagwa Chowk, very close to the bus stop, which is a very busy part of town. There is always someone waiting for a bus or walking through the chowk, so it’s never quiet around our office. We do a lot of trading from this little spot. It’s mostly just a few of us handling the accounts and making sure the goods move from one place to another. We don't have a big warehouse here; it’s more of a hub where we manage the business side of things. Kolhapur is a great place to work, even if the traffic near the bus stop gets a bit crazy in the evenings. We started this company because we wanted to be part of the local trade scene. We don't have any corporate slogans or a mission statement on the wall. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure our partners are satisfied with the deals we make. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s not too hot and just watch the people go by at the chowk. It’s a simple life, really. Most of our day is spent on the phone or working through ledgers. We’ve been here long enough that most of the shopkeepers around Bhagwa Chowk know us by name. It’s a friendly atmosphere and we plan on staying here for a long time, just doing our daily trading work.
