St Joseph Press & Book Stall

Down in Aramanapady, Changanacherry, you’ll find our place. St Joseph Press & Book Stall has been around for a long time in this part of Kottayam. We do a mix of things here. One side of the building is where we do the printing work, and the other side is the book stall. It can get pretty noisy when the old presses are running, but we’re used to the sound by now. It smells like ink and paper most of the time, which isn't a bad thing if you like books. We handle a lot of local printing jobs for the church and the schools nearby. The book stall has a bit of everything—religious texts, notebooks, pens, and some local Malayalam literature. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for years. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to stay late to finish everything, but that’s just how the printing business goes. The shop front is simple and we don’t spend much on making it look modern. We prefer it this way. It’s a reliable spot where people know they can get their pamphlets printed or buy a new diary for the year. The traffic in Changanacherry can be a bit much during school hours, but it brings people into the shop. We’ve lived here all our lives, so we know most of the faces that walk through the door every day.
