Down at Plot No. 7 in the Major Industrial Estate at Kalamassery, things are usually moving pretty fast. It’s a busy part of town and you can always hear the sounds of other workshops and factories nearby. Our place is basically where the work gets done, with plenty of barrels and containers sitting around ready for whatever job is next on the list. We’ve got a small crew who knows their way around the coating process. It isn't the cleanest job in the world, and there’s always that faint smell of chemicals and drying paint hanging in the air. The floor has seen better days, covered in spills and marks from years of moving heavy equipment around, but that’s just part of being in an industrial area. People come and go throughout the day, mostly delivery drivers or folks from other businesses in the estate looking for something specific. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk with a lot of paperwork and a phone that rings more than it should. When the humidity gets high, which it often does around here, we have to keep an eye on how things are setting. It’s a lot of waiting and checking, then rushing to get the next batch done. Kalamassery is a good spot for us because everything is close by, even if the traffic on the main road can be a real headache some afternoons. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs finishing before we go home.
